SPECIALITY HUNTS

The way towards making your dream hunt a reality!

Wildebeest GS.png

The Wildebeest Slam is highly sought after by hunters from around the world!

Just the colors alone make this specie breathtaking and just looks amazing in a trophy room and a must have!

The Blue wildebeest, otherwise known as the brindle gnu, as named by the Hottentot (Khoi) people for the sound it makes, is one tough animal and is an ox-like member of the antelope species. It is also referred to as the poor man's buffalo.   Black wildebeest hunting is a unique and challenging Safari experience that draws hunters from across the globe.  Also known as the White-Tailed Gnu or White-Tailed Wildebeest. Just a few years ago Black Wildebeest were on the brink of extinction. The populations have been resuscitated by local landowners and sustainable hunting practices.    An exotic mutation of the black and blue wildebeest, the Golden wildebeest, or golden gnu as it was named by the Khoi (Hottentot) is a beautiful animal and commands attention and admiration.    Kings Wildebeest are a color variant originating from a Blue Wildebeest.  The uncountable herds of this antelope during their annual migration make a striking sight to behold.

Shot Placement

Be aware that the prominent shoulder hump and mane may interfere with your shot placement. Many a hunter has placed a shot too high, resulting in a very angry, extremely dangerous animal.

When a Wildebeest is wounded, he tends to circle around until he returns to the same spot.

Since the animal is extremely tough, it is important to try avoiding long shots. Opt for a medium caliber magnum, such as a .300 or a 7mm with 200-220 grain bullets. You may need an even larger caliber with heavier bullets.
